Other Admission Types

Graduate Students

  • If you are planning on taking graduate courses at NMSU (either degree-seeking or non-degree-seeking), please reach out to the Graduate School for next steps: gradschool.nmsu.edu/.
  • If you are also an International Student, you will have a separate orientation course to complete that will cover processes and requirements specifically for International Students. Information on this piece will be emailed directly to you when it is available closer to the start of your semester. If you have additional questions about this piece, you can reach Associate Director Nathan Cheesman at cheesman@nmsu.edu or +1-575-646-2704.

National Students Exchange or Education Abroad Students

  • If you are at NMSU participating in National Student Exchange or an Education Abroad program, please contact the Office of Experiential Learning for your next steps: oel.nmsu.edu/educationabroad/.

NMSU Community College Students

Non-degree Students or Senior Citizens

  • If you are taking undergraduate classes at NMSU, but are not seeking a degree, you are not required to complete Aggie Welcome & Orientation.

Readmitted Students

  • If you were previously a degree-seeking student at NMSU and are returning to complete your undergraduate degree, you are not required to complete Aggie Welcome & Orientation. However, if it has been a long time since you were at NMSU, and would like a refresher, we can provide you access to our Canvas Course.

Second Degree-seeking

  • If you have already received a Bachelor’s degree from any college or university, you are not required to complete Aggie Welcome & Orientation. However, if this is your first time at NMSU and you would like more information, we can provide you access to our Canvas Course.

To request access to the AWO Canvas Course, please email awo@nmsu.edu and include your name, Aggie ID number, and your admissions type in your request.

All students are encouraged to check the Registration Schedule to see when they can initially register for classes for a given semester: records.nmsu.edu/registration-schedule-by-classification/. Please remember all active holds must be taken care of before you can register for classes. Students attending Aggie Welcome & Orientation (AWO) will have their Advising and Orientation holds removed as a part of AWO.
